West Mall

370 The West Mall

Phone number unavailable

Strengths: big ice surface - double pad. Rink has good ice most of the time. There is a big change house with many dressing rooms, plus a central area with a new wooden ceiling of interesting design.

Areas for improvement: This rink lost marks for having too little public shinny, and for a mandatory helmet policy that discourages shinny players, especially youth. The place not as well used as it should be: a sign that something needs improving.

Next steps: : make this rink much more of a community place. Skate-lending, snack bar, more interior benches and chairs so people can talk, benches outside. Weekly family-skate events, weekly youth tourneys, Friday night music, etc.
