March Ice Rink Conditions.

During the extended outdoor rink season in March, ice conditions will be often be poor. Warm weather is not much of a problem, but any day when the sun is on the ice, even if the temperature is sub-zero, will have poor ice unless the rink is shaded (like City Hall). At Dufferin Rink the ice will be closed from noon to 5 for sure on any sunny day. For the policies of other rinks, please consult List of Rinks to get the direct phone numbers, and call the rink you want to go to for more information.

West and North Regions' Open Rinks

Dufferin Rink is being scraped, will be skateable by 7:00. Currently there is a layer of snow - only balls allowed on hockey side. Rosedale and Otter Creek will be maintained for a tournament this evening. Wallace and Campbell have just been scraped, Wallace will be maintained for the permit. Christie Pits, Trinity Bellwoods and Harry Gairey are CLOSED for the night.All others are snow covered to varying degrees and largely unskateable.

East and Central Regions' Open Rinks

College Park, Ryerson and Regent North are snow covered and unskateable. Greenwood, Riverdale, Withrow, Monarch were scraped this afternoon and are snow-covered. City hall is open and skateable.

College Park, Ryerson and Regent North are snow covered and unskateable. Greenwood, Riverdale, Withrow, Monarch have been scraped fairly recently and may be skateable. City hall is skateable.

CITY HALL OPEN. Many rinks that were maintained need to be cleared again. Check back for update at 2pm. CLOSED RINKS: Regent North, South, College Park and Ryerson will remain closed till much later in the afternoon.

Call 416-392-0913 for specific rink phone numbers. Will be trying to clean all rinks. Dufferin Rink expects a cleaning around 7:15 (or 8pm). Green shovels are being used in the interim by on site recreation staff.

East and Central Regions' Open Rinks

All rink will be closed after 6pm. No snow removal. City Hall OPEN and will be cleared.
