Source: Globe And MailRecently moved into the Toronto neighbourhood known as Corktown and was pleased to discover that there is a good outdoor rink a few blocks away at Sumach and Shuter streets, which happens to be the same ice surface that Boston Bruins forward Glen Metropolit grew up playing on.
The city of Toronto should honour Metropolit by naming the rink in honour of the former Regent Park resident. He has been an inspiration to many children in the area and will be featured in a segment on CBC’s Hockey Day in Canada on Feb. 9.
