Strengths: : Beautiful location in a destination park in skating friendly neighborhood. Many passionate skaters will back up and appreciate all efforts to improve this rink. This rink is already a destination rink, it just needs support
Areas for improvement: despite its strengths, the rink faces some difficulties in its physical facility. It lacks windows onto the rink (or anywhere) in both the changeroom and the staff room. Staff are much too segregated from skaters. The rink is sometimes locked during skating times, forcing skaters to climb the fence.
Next steps: De-segregate the changerooms. Post schedules outside. Open rink during unsupervised times, otherwise kids and adults climb the high fence. Reliable ice, more frequent and ice maintenance. Windows should be put into the changerooms and staff room. Good location for skate rental and snack bar on weekends since it is a destination rink.
