Strengths: : Next to community centre and in a good neighborhood for skating and shopping or eating. Excellent recreation programming including hockey-in-the-neighborhood. Outside of programming times there is very low attendance.
Areas for improvement: This rink lost points for friendliness and communication. There are no windows in the change room (awkwardly part-washroom) nor in the staff office, which is out of the way. There are not enough outside benches. Ice quality is better than other years but still needs help.
Next steps: : Put windows in changeroom, fix women’s washroom doors. More benches outdoors with mats. Fix Zamboni filling problem (small diameter of waterpipe). Staff move out of the staff room into the public area and relate to skaters. Flyer schools and the local area. Have weekly family-skate and youth events, with borrowed loaner skates and campfires.
