CELOS donation letter to Parks and Rec, March 2018

To Parks and Recreation March 13, 2018 City of Toronto

The Centre of Local Research into Public Space is donating our loaner skate collection to the City of Toronto. This is in response to an offer made by Matt Cutler, Manager of Issues Management in the office of the general manager, on March 1, 2018, saying that the city is

"willing to accept, store and maintain the skates and make them available for lending at special events and other pop-up skate programming"

We understand that the details will be worked out after the Community Development and Recreation Committee of City Council receives the Parks and Recreation general manager’s report, due July 2018, on

“possible approaches to starting skate rental programs at City-operated outdoor rinks.”

CELOS looks forward to contributing suggestions as part of the public discussion of the skate lending at these rinks.
