RINK REPORT CARD: 2007-2008

Scarborough Civic Centre,

Albert Campbell Square

B+

150 Borough Drive

Phone number unavailable

Strengths: steps from the SRT, a huge, and growing number of condos, little park space nearby, a major mall and the 401.It is also the only artificial outdoor rink in Scarborough, busy on weekends, but slow on weekdays.

Areas for improvement: This rink lost points for ice maintenance – should be better. Not enough amenities for a destination rink, especially skate rentals and convenient snacks. Not enough usage.

Recommendations: : Music on weekday evenings. Flyer and contact local schools. Set up a skate rental program and increase the number of mats to the large number of benches. Occasional special events, like theatre (e.g. “puppets on ice”) and campfires. Snack bar.
